Back in the day when i worked at a pet shop i set up a 1.5 nano reef tank with a tiny HOB filter 1.5 pounds of live rock with live sand and some shrimp crabs etc... with no problems, the tank had some LED lights on it also. The key is to take it slow

I've seen it done before you just have to take your time and go slow with sw it is easy to go wrong especially with small tanks

you can find some FW low light plants.anubias,java moss,java sword.if you look at aquatic plant websites,they have good info on the low light/easy growing plants.prices better than the stores also

SW 2 LBS of LR, a sponge filter for mechanical and chemical filtration. Then I would stock it with some mini hermit crabs or some small snails.
