How much $ do wolf fish go for?

48" would be better, but you can easily make the 36" tank work, especially because you are not limited by the 12" width of most smaller tanks. Out of the list of fish I gave, I personally would go with 1 Senegalus, 1 Delhezi, 1 Retropinnis (these can prove to be a little tough to get)... That would take care of your bottom dwellers. The sens and dels are noticably more active than the other types of bichirs too, so even with just the bichirs, your tank wouldn't even be close to boring.FPiX;3069697; said:I thought bichirs needed 48" tanks? Otherwise it sounds cool.

If you plan on getting more than just a couple of fish, I would maybe cut the 3 down to 2 bichirs.
The first thing most would say is the African Butterfly Fish... If you want to go a different route, I've heard people mixing Angelfish and bichirs (I think silver angels look best with bichirs), Ctenopomas would work (I prefer Leopard Ctens), a school of Giant Danios... There's a lot to choose from. As long as the fish isn't overly aggressive or small enough and slow enough to be eaten, there shouldn't be any issues.FPiX;3071070; said:I like ideas for bichirs, puffers, or a big catfish. If I do go with bichirs, what could go on top swimming?
