I wouldn't take the chance of cohabbing something with the clarius imo. Personally, I would do a heavily planted tank with bunch of smaller community fish like tetras and maybe some larger comm fish in the barb family

Get a young buttikoferi , and he should be fine in that tank for a good long while!

I'm thinking the next big tank I get I'm going to do all smaller fish. I've been keeping fish on and off for almost 20 years I'm starting to like watching smaller fish have a ton of tank space.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing with my 150. Lots of small fish, just for something different.

Im at a point now that I feel like a 4 foot tank is way too small for even an 8 inch fish. I know they can remain more than healthy in that enviornment but I am starting to feel bad about the limited swimming space. Maybe I am just getting old.

Are you sure those are the dimensions? A standard 90 is 48x18x24 so if yours is 18" tall its about 70g
