Okay so I haven't been on here in a while and it's because I kinda droped the fish hobby:/ but now I'm into reps and anphibs. I was thinking bout what kinda reps or anphibs would work in this tank. There's lots of room and the tank is completely empty. There's no type of subsrate or nothing. Any ideas on what to put in it? I was thinking a tree frog tank or a anole. Nothing too big. And NO snakes at all. Soo give me your suggestions and I appreciate it:)

I wouldnt go that basic... Id probably go out and get a columbian tegu they get like 2.5 feet so a 55 gallon would be great for it. If not that then get a blue tongued skink or a clown agama (they can play dead). Theres a lot to pick from, hope this helps.

Youve got a bunch of choices, but first Im sure some one will come in saying bearded dragons but IMO they need a wider tank. Bu a cool choice would be to separate it into two section and have a african bull frog or pacman frog on each side. Or a female leopard gecko on each side. Anothe choice would be to flip it vertically and have 2 male tokay geckos and one female. Or divide it vertically into three or four section and have a crested in each section. Eventually you could merge them into 2 section and have 2 per section as the grow as long as there aro not two males together. Also it would make a nive dart frog vivarium or tiger salamander vivarium. Theres no way a columbian tegu could fit as 55's are 13 inches wide and columbian tegus are no pet for tegu beginners and can be aggressive of not tamed while young. Tree frogs or anoles would but work and it would be awesome if the tank was flipped vertically.

Your options are to wide to try to summarize...

What small to medium reptiles or amphibians are you most interested in? Do you like desert animals or more tropical varieties? Are you interested in making a 'natural like' environment? If so how complex are you willing to make it?

I'd suggest putting ample energy into choosing the animal you buy to help keep your interest.

i love beardies but i dnt want them to feel like they are in prison when they get bigger. i want somthing that wont be stressed. i was think maybe having branches and vines and having 3 or 4 tree frogs for the upper atmostphere and blue tailed skinks or some other type of rep or anphib for the floor of the tank. what do you guys think?

That would work but be careful of the sex of the tree frogs, I dont know about 2 males fighting but you may not want a bunch of eggs. You made the right decision buy avoiding bearded dragon for this tank. Are you going to flip it vertically. Combining two species in the same tank generally is not a good idea when working with reptiles. Its a question that if it has to be asked, you shouldnt try it. To answer your question Blue tailed skinks are not compatable with american tree frogs. I am assuming you mean cuban or american.

Nook I dnt wanna turn the tank vertical. I may wanna go back to fish. But I know for sure I wanna get green or any kind of tree frog that doesn't get too big. What Can I get to occupy the floor of the tank?

you can pretty much get any small lizard that doesnt eat frogs. In my 55 gallon tank i made it a deserty forest. Basically theres bark and pine shavings on the floor cause my columbian tegu loves to dig and burrow, a giant water dish that takes up 1/4 of the tank, a branch, half a hollow log, and a plastic tree stump thats mostly used for the mice to hide so my tegu doesnt eat all of them at once like she likes to do. Im going to upgrade to a 75gallon tank real soon and that will be the end for upgrading her since she only spends the night in her tank and the day laying under the covers of my bed. So it pretty much depends on your preference of what YOU want. Go on kingsnakes.com and look at their reptile clssified section and look at all the different lizards then go based on what you want.
