Ending oscar hunger strike

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i bet the cramped quarters will have had bad waterquality as well.
Your fish may need some time to aclimbatize to good water quality.
Plus in the wild Oscars get cut off from open water in the dry season.
They will survive in pools for a very long time.
Your fish looks healthy and will come around.
What did they feed him in the LFS?
You could try dipping pellets in garlic juice, that may work if he's used to pellets.
Or try mealworms, that works for any oscar i've had.
Good luck, and don't worry yet!

yeah that is a great looking lemon O, those are hard to come by where i am!! but yeah i would just let him acclimatize a little longer before worrying, he has been shifted from his original home where who knows what the water quality was, to a crappy pet store tank and now to yours so its just a lot of change that he has to get used to, and Os especially are very moody about change so i would just feed the tank like you normally would, and i would keep the lights totally off for a few days and he will start to eat when hes ready
