Endli grow rate!

What's the normal grow rate of an polypetrus endlicheri? I have one that's only 1,5 inch. When I got him a couple of weeks ago, he was obut 1 inch. Very small .

How long do you think I can have him in a 50 gallon tank?

i think they average about 3.5" a month when young. could be a lil more or a lil less then they slow down a bit when they get bigger. another member said his grew over 7" within 2 months.. if hes a single speciman, im guessing he'll be to big for it within 6 months maybe less.

That sounds pretty fast, I don't think he will grow that fast, but maybe you'r right. I have a ornate. Do they have the same growt, or do the endli grow faster?

I have owned both and the Endli is growing at a much faster rate. My endli has grown from about 6-7" to 12" in approx. two months. He does not get fed every day so faster growth could definately be possible.

ornates grow at a regular rate, usually hit 12" b4 the 1yr mark. but endlis grow the fastst out of all bichirs. i wouldnt doubt them hitting 2ft within 1 year.

Actually growth tends to slow down as they get bigger. I would highly doubt that an endli would reach 2 feet in size in a year. Most endli endlis don't even reach their max of 2 feet.

are you kidding? endli endli can reach up to almost 3ft max. cong can get even bigger. maybe not 2ft in a year but is possible to hit 2ft in a very quick way compared to other fish. where do you get the idea that endlis only get 2ft? there one of the biggest bichirs, ornates only get 2ft. endli endli is 3ft, endli cong is about 40"

Maybe in the wild they may attain such length but in the aquarium most of them don't.
