ENDLI STRIPES

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
theres this type of tiny white hair-like parasite that attach to bichirs, called Macrogyrodactylus polypteri, and bichirs are more susceptible to this. But generally they are quite resistant of parasites. i don't know if thats what fluke is, but 'fluke' is just the catch-all term i use.

im not sure if the liquid fert could have started this. i don't think its supposed to cloud up the water though, right?

he could be stressed thats nt ick it appears to ee some type of fngus but the pictures not clear

ok bichirs are almost immune to ich meaning they have good tolerance for ich, so im sure its not caused by ich.
by now its good to isolate the endli, this will be a bit of work but im sure you'd do anything to help your endli.
get a spare tank ready w/ new water (80%) then treat it there. if you're thinking the cause of the discoloration is fungal well at least you can do daily water changes of 50%max on the spare tank.
generally bigger cichlids will tend to nip and chase bichirs, so the endli might also be too stressed out. the pleco could also be the cause of this.
i hope its not this but im thinking of poisoning here or some sort of digestive problems that will cost this kind of discoloration (i.e. liver diseases can cause ppl to turn yellow), are there red blotches in the tummy area?
well i hope he gets better in your hospital tank.

thanks Guys..Its color is getting better, doing water changes and treating the wounds with melafix..ninoe, it doesnt have red marks on the belly (thank God)..Im still hoping for the best...

your endy seems to have lost lots slime coats, seems like its been really stressed, just continue on the melafix medications, updates us with a pic

It's colors seem to be returning..Still hadn't fed it yet i'll try to do so later..I nuked the tank where it came from ith salt pushing the salinity to 1.010 I manted to clear the tank of whatever, i was surprised that the water cleared up thats why i'M thinking it might have been some algae growth clouding up my water, this all happened after i put in that liquid fert....
