do all bichirs grow into their spines? which ones still retain the tallest as they get older?

I love the way juvenile endlicheris look with the huge dorsal fins, but they all grow into their dorsal fins.

I'd say polypterus bichir lapradei has the tallest dorsal spines, or it could just be because they are skinnier dorsal fins, making them look taller.

I would say genes and diet play a part in it...I've seen some locals keeping large endi endi yet mantaining the dorsal fins high.
