I'd be more concerned about putting my fish in shock with cold water.

well its summer time, unplug your heaters, might save you some money right there.
 
I agreee with Pharaoh, purchase a meter. They're cheap and accurate. I have a kill-a-watt and use it where-ever I want to know costs.

How? Heaters have a thermostat, they will only come on if the water temp drops below the temp they are set at.
