Enough filtration for a 110 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Definitely not needed, but if you have the money burning a hole in your pocket...

EDIT: Still wont fix the poop on the floor issue... A koralia would, though.

Or i think i will just point the return hose from the pump downward and see if it is enough, it is running at 1000gph but i tried it in my 55 gallon and the sand flew...but maybe the 31" height will help. thanks for the ideas.

You also need to take into account that if it has two 1" drains into the sump it will only allow 700 GPH flow rate (350 gallons per drain). If it has one 1 1/2 drain pluming then it can run up to 950 gallons per hour. I would add an AC 110 or FX5 if it were me. People seem to forget the importance of your intake when calculating GPH of filteration. I received these figures from a non partisan test. You will see different figures posted all over the web. You can get more pressure on the intake in the overflow if you use larger plumbing on the top (in the overflow box). Thats why most manufacturers of overflow kits use a large pipe that is tapered down to fit into the bulkhead. GL

Finally, someone that gets me. I love over filtering, specially since i might overstock this tank. thanks. And i have one 1 2/3 of a inch drain so i get a little more than 1000gph i guess.
