300gal Heavily stocked (not insanely, just heavily)

2 - Fluval FX5 (all bio, except outer foam rings)
1 - Rena XP3 (all bio)

No mechanical, except the sponges? How often do you plan on cleaning those sponges?

i change 25-35% every other day - including gravel vac...

so outer rings seem to be enough.....

what kind of problem are you having?

no problems necessarily.....i guess it is a question of what is more optimal?

i know that there may be enough surface area for enough bacteria to grow in those 3 filters...but wondering if by adding more, will there be any use?

bio-load wise, these filters do the job - meaning all levels are fine...

but will adding a 4th cannister for simply mech do anything for me?

water is crystal clear, and levels fine....

thanks for the input...for some reason, you just never feel content with the amount of filtration you have.....especially because i am coming from using a massive wetdry with literally 20x the amount of bio-media these 3 cannisters can hold....

hopefully the bb keeps up....

but i can't stop this itch for another fx5 :irked:

Should be enough, what exactly are you stocking?

too much? well...i have a lot of fish....

actually, the number of fish is heading in the direction of insanely stocked....

thinking about adding another fx5 into the mix
