Thank you for the kind words :D

Perhaps one day I will go to the dark side. My gf keeps bugging me about it.

She likes all the "pretty colored fish." :banher:

If I left things up to her, my tanks would be filled with all the most colorful fish, that would all probably eat each other. :screwy:

And she thinks all the oddball fw fish I like are "weird and creepy."

I just tell her I'm gonna feed the cat to the fire eel.

Sad thing is I paid 500 for a 1500 salty set up... I have so much stuff I cant use.. I chiller alone is worth more than I paid for the whole thing.

Fishie madness is upon me... I just picked up a 180g saltwater setup that I am going to convert to freshwater. It came with a 30g sump and a fluval 405 canister. I WAS thinking about adding 2 Emperor 400's to the mix. I am definitly going to have 2 oscars but I am not sure what else to put in there... I want the O's to be the focus. Are the Emps overkill.

Oscars produce copious amounts of solid tank waste. When it comes to them O's, the bigger they become, the more food they eat and the more solid waste produced. You can never have too much filtration when it comes to O's. So, to answer your question about your two Emperor 400's in addition to the other filtration units you plan on using, I would have to say, No. It's not overkill.
