ENTER THE BLACK DRAGON

very nice animal - I know what you mean about pictures not doing them justice - the scales shine (when not filthy) - stunning when bigger too.

"that is Varanus Salvator Sp Komaini" - just a comment on your last post varanio in the other black dragon thread - I only mentioned the two black 'types' as the term black dragon is fairly ambiguous and I have seen both togian and komani in europe (with the same name).

Just to reiterate the above - definitely komani

I would also be inclined to keep a rare and valuable animal in a sturdy indoor enclosure where environment can be maintained correctly.

I agree Carl, that term is ambiguous and its only used to market them a bit better.

as to the pair at prehistoric pets.. not in the best condition, with any animal at that horrid place.. eww

but they are about 40" or so.. for 6500 not to bad for size.

Here is some info that will spark some discussion about the black dragon. I went to see the black dragon yesterday but unfortunately was only able to see its back only cause it was in hiding. I was with a friend and a "big dog" reptile breeder and we were discussing what the black dragon is.

Surprisingly both said that it doesn't look like salvator but like a ruff neck monitor species. I found that very interesting as these 2 people have been in the reptile game for a loooooong time so they kinda know whats what.

What do y'all think? Varanio?

Not trying to take away from milokai's beautiful animal. Just trying to spark discussion.;)
