Epic fish... what to keep?

Hey guys!

I'm setting up a $180 G tank for epic fish... epic in terms of how interesting they are to keep (ie arowana). So besides arowana, what else is there?

Gars (if so, what kind)?

What do you mean by epic? do you want something that is crazy color like a Mbu puffer do you want something crazy rare like the Imperial Flower loaches like Wes is selling now. So you want something epically agressive like a Rhom or ATF. So you want something that's epic oddball like a Aus. lungfish Do you want something epically under rated like Masheers?....... You need to help narrow the field down.
 
Your going to have to define how you depict "Epic" a bit further.

But I would pack it with Endli's :) And an aro for some time until it got too big.
 
Are you wanting fish that you can keep for life in the 180 or do you plan on going to a larger tank? That is something to consider before purchasing an arowana.

Yup and he needs to define "Epic" Something tells me this thread was started on a college campus somewhere. :grinno:
 
Goliath Tiger Fish? they are pretty epic, in terms of extreme fish. Alligator Gar? Tambaqui? Violet line piranha? goonch catfish? though im pretty sure they all would out grow that tank too quickly, so there goes my next suggestion, a coelocanth which in my opinion is one ofthe ultimate monster fish:)
 
Ok my definition of epic is something different that's really powerful and deadly (like an arowana).

Yes I'm at U of T in Canada LOL but the tank's at home.
