Jay, I respect your opinion and see your points.

Can you by them for a hell lot less as a Saltwater Fish - YES
Is it a quick money scam - Maybe
Will it live a short life in Freshwater - We'll see
A Saltwater one can be converted to fresh - Good luck
Did I throw away money buying these - If you can afford it why not ?

I'm the kind of hobbyist who likes to try new things. Last thing I want this thread to turn into is a pissing contest. I would just like to see others groupers and compare notes.

This is a fish that's obviously not for everyone. Let's get back to the topic

That's cool. I really like your new fish and am glad that you do. Please keep us posted on how it's doing as it gets older. Late.

Believe me, I'm as curious as you are. I too wonder how long it can live in Fresh. All I know is that this dude act's like he's been in my tank forever. Very active, feeds on beefheart and raw shrimp. Always up and center when feeding time.

Here's a link to the one in my sump =-) Just click on link..

Just saw your vid. Man I love your tank and the bumblebee looks great and as fat as a cow! Where do you plan on keeping him once he gets a little bigger? If you put him in the tank above, I'm affraid he would have ATF breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I have plans to upgrade to a bigger tank where I'm putting in all my other fish. That will free up the 600 and the groupers will stay their. If and when they out grow that out than I'll have a BBQ and invite all of you........heard groupers were good eating... =-)
