I have a way to get some epoxy for a plywood tank for free, but all he has is brown... I was just wondering if I can take it to a paint or hardware store to get it tinted a little bit to be a tan color or darken it to black? I just think that a brown background would be kind of ugly... or any idea of how I could I could do a different background if I used the brown epoxy? Thank you, :headbang2

You usually get an epoxy specific pigment added to it. Before curing, the pigment vapors are usually more toxic than the epoxy itself.
At a hardware store? I heard that you can get a little bit of pigment added to epoxy...

I am using "evercoat" coloring agent. Highly toxic before curing (same as my west system epoxy). Once cured the toxic substance in the agent is has evaporated. I called the company 513-489-2602.

The evercoat is a little expensive. I have used 2 tubes so far and need another 6. They are 9.99 at my local marine supply store. I am buying from West Marine but I am sure you can find it online way cheaper.

The package that it came in says "For coating Skid-No-More Gel Paste, Polyester and Epoxy Resins & Fillers" I would imagine that anything that says "For coloring Epoxy" can color it, but you should call the company if the MSDS for the product is a little vague.
