will epsom salt work for my aquarium. i wanna treat for a lesion on my festaes mouth that seems to be healing from medicated flakes and massive daily water changes, but wanna give some salt a try to seal the deal?????? any help is appreciated

I suggest using regular aquarium salt or melafix to heal the lesions. Epsom salts are more for treating stomach problems as they act as a laxative.
Sorry for the noob question, but wouldn't massave daily water changes not allow your cycle to catch up with the new uncycled water?
with massive daily water changes there is no need to worry. there is never enough waste in the tank to take care of. i vacuum the gravel and change about 60 to 75% daily. i have no problems and my silver dollars have almost doubled in size in the 3weeks or so that i have had them. all my fish are growing like weeds and eat like pigs.

Ahh Gotcha. Thanks for the info. My thinking was massave water changes is almost like starting a new tank and having to restart the cycle. Yeah it will be a lot faster because of an established filter and such, but what you say does make sense. By constantly doing them daily, the waste is low.

yeah, no filters either. just massive daily water changes, most of the time i do about 2 a week but right now i bumped them up to everyday so i can take care of this little problem. if you had a tank that was established for a long time and you didnt do regular water changes then sure daily large water changes may effect your fish, but done every day on a tank that gets lots of regular big water changes it keeps the fish HAPPY AS CAN BE
