I have a few frontosas in my ray tank with float. I have heard epsom salts will cure this. Wondering if the salts are ok for rays and what dosage i shoukd use.

Thanks!

Yes they are fine. They're great to remove intestional blockage and etc..

When i dose with epson, I usually move the fish to QT tank, no other reason other than habit.

I usually grab a handfull for 75 galon tank..

could you not just use regular salt to stay on the safer side like you have used so many times before!

I think it needs to be pretty concentrated to be effective. I would not recommend high salt levels for rays over time. I would lower the water level to 15%. Disconnect the slum. Dissolve slightly more than the recommended dosage of salt/med in warm water and add. Give the salt/med bath for 45 mins before refilling the tank to dilute the salt.

This way you don't screw with your bio filters and theres no need to stress your ray further by moving it.

mix epsom salts with distilled water(theres a thread by RD explaining how to do this)and feed it to your fronts via earthworms. You can get alot of epsom salt solution in a worm. The frontsa if eating will eat the epsom pill. IVe treated a ray tank with epsom salts before. I had nowhere to keep the rays and the aro needed it. Really made the rays have tight lil spiral poops again.
