Do you ever have a hard time picking what to spend your money on within this hobby?

I always want to spend my money on fish instead of equipment. Not equipment that I already have, but upgrades like a better stand or light.

Thoughts?

I myself usually go equip first before fish.

I like to cry once and buy once.

Yeah, it's really tough. I only get $6 a week, so I do almost everything on the free or cheap anyway. But it depends on where I've been spending my time, too. When I read a lot about new catfish or breeding rarities, I'm all starry for new fish. But when I start digging into water parameters and such I start drooling over filters and system add-ons.

I think just like you. As soon as I see a cool DIY wet/dry or stand. Im like damn lets go build one. Then Ill see some aquascaping and im like damn lets get some new plants. Im always going back and forth but it keeps me interested. :headbang2

Both, though equipment is way over priced here. You Americans have it easy.

Well, for a while there I was spending all my money on fish. Then I realized I had severely overstocked my system, so I had to go and spend money on equipment, including a new 220g tank :D.

Right now I'm more likely to spend money on equipment, because I still haven't gotten my 220g up and running yet, and that needs to happen before I can really consider buying many new fish, especially any expensive ones.

ya it can be really hard, i tend to choose fish and then shop for used equipment. i wish i had the choice to choose between bills or fish. lol

I used to want to buy fish constantly but after having my first canister filter hooked up for about a month I keep scouring for used canisters.

Silence is golden!
