thanks guys ill get some more pics up wen my connection sorts it self out... over my mums atm.... but yea they are bowfin and my babies.... if i had to have just two fish this would be them... sod the snakeheads buy bowfin! and before you say you dont know.... yes i have 4 redlines, 2 cobras and 5 rainbow snakeheads, only the redlines are as impressive fish and bowfins win as it is kinda possible to com them.... oh and here in the uk redlines are in a abundance and bowfin are like snakeheads to america, ie illeagal for import and its only existing fish in the uk and fish on a proven capptive breeding program for 3 generations are allowed in, then you must prove that you will never release the fish into the wild.... rules apply to all cold water and american natives! its a bit harsh on bowfin heads but good for our eco systeams!

Love how they get the green bellies. Very nice fish

I still dont think its technically legal to own channa in maryland. Yes it must not cross state lines, but the federal ban didnt leave a grandfather clause so that means the fish that is there now had at one point in time or its parents crossed state lines making them illegal.

Would you get in trouble? Probably not as the fed could honestly care less, but I bet you if push came to shove the fed wins...Thats why we need Thompson '08!! haha

It's legal to own channa except the species Maculata and Argus in MD. PM Oddball or Stotty.
