I just unpacked my first crays, and am wondering about their legendary climbing ability and escape plans. There's no cover (kind of pointless with all it's gaps), but the water level is 4" below the top of the tank. The only way for them to escape is to climb the airline. can they climb it? of course, but, can they climb across the plastic cray shield I made up?

I'd like to give you some pics of my marmorkrebs, but they're only 3/8 of an inch and disappeared under the deco pretty quick.

My big one doesn't seem to show any interest in climbing. Her tank is far from escape proof but she just hangs out on the bottom makin more food for my puffer.

well, they have been staying on the bottom, no climbing at all that I've seen. but I've been tricked before, and by fish that don't actually want to leave the water no less.
we'll see.

Crays are sneaky! mine escaped and i heard him in my closet at night! had to use some mesh to cover the filter, airline and heater cut out on the lid.
