LOL same here we caught an injured blue tongue skink about 6'' long and he got out and lived off random crickets for about a month until i came home and found him balls deep in a packet of chips!

It is a house gecko. It will be fine just living in the house.

I have two cats and they have yet to catch one. I purposely let some go in my house and basement to help with escaped crickets. I worried for a little while until I started seeing babies. They must be doing ok then :-)

well i live in NY and one had escaped for about a month. my dog was acting really funny and i was like wtf is going on and it was on the door but emaciated.

Definitely check around warm appliances and windows. Even nocturnal gecko species seem to hang around windows. When my golden gecko use to get out I use to find him near the one window in my bedroom.

Well one trick that has worked for herpetoculturists I know is to leave some food out in plain view at night.. then put like flour or something that they can step in while getting the food and you can track their little feet to see where they went. Good luck! Don't despair and keep your cat secluded meantime. Don't leave any windows or doors open.

Idk if a house gecko would take something not alive?
