Escapeproofing a tank with HOB filters

water can flow through egg crate so you can cut it a lot closer than you realize.
 
does eggcrate work for bichirs well? i was just wondering if they could squeeze through or even break the plastic.
 
I don't think that your run of the mill eggcrate will keep my guys from escaping -- they shoudl be able to squeeze through with ease. I think I want to go with the fine plastic mesh, just like the one tank dividers are made of. Only question is, where can I get it in bulk?
 
Don't know if will be strong enough but you can find plastic mesh at the craft store. Look where the needle point supplies are.

Thank you, this is exactly what I had in mind but wasn't sure when to get this stuff. Now all I need is to figure out how to attach it to Aquacliear water outlets
