Is this an Escondido Parrot? And how do we tell if its a male or female?

Lol? Idk where you got the name Escondido Parrot, but I've never even heard of that name...must be made up. That fish looks like a texas cichlid and if u gave me a side shot I could tell you if its a texas x parrot cichlid hybrid. Looks like a normal texas though because mine look like that

ohhhhh haha im not sure what it is so i gave it a random name i think its a balloon green texas, and if it is, is it male or female? i want to breed it

theres no such thing as a balloon green texas either man lol, if its more rounder than its a texas+a blood parrot [hybrid] but it does not look more rounder and shorter than a regular texas by the pic so I would say its a normal texas. & I can't tell if its male or female sorry

oh i see... well its pretty round which is why i was thinking it was a balloon or parrot hybrid. Might be a short bodied green texas? Its not shaped like how a normal green texas would be from what i have seen.

Oh, then ya its most likely a hybrid...but I'm not thinking its a texas parrot hybrid anymore because usually they have a parrot-like head like this,

googled short body green texas and this came out. looks like that to me.

^^^ that is what it is. the short body gene is in most larger ca cichlids.
