Hey. I have a 20 gallon that i use now for a wet/dry sump. Just looking to improve on my desing. Mine was quick and simple but i want to change it. i have a wide 20 gallon tank. maybe ill have to start to plan some things.

hey Thanks iam actually looking at that now also.

I think ill have to go to the store tomorrow. Now the real problem is how do i do this project when the tank is being used for the filter, i guess i better finish in a day. haha.

Make your own, it will be a lot cheaper. I have a sump for my tank, and it is relatively noisy, so I put a fan on so I can't hear it when I sleep.

Hey guys. I will be building my own just not sure when right now. Need to save the money for another project. What do you guys think of the Kaldnes K1 filter media.

hey guys. Well the company got back to me and he said its about 1 gallon of bio-balls. Seems a little low. SO i might look else where. I wanted to find a system with the filter sock and bio ball setup. I am having trouble finding a setup like that. I just like the idea of a filter sock simple and works so well. If you guys have any thoughts on good wet dry let me know. I was looking at the pro clear one but has no filter sock but still is nice.

The bio balls in this set up is mostly for gas exchange...just place bio media into the sump portion with the amount specific to your load for your tank..

Here's what I use in all my W/D's it seems to work for me...

Then I load the baskets with Pond Matrix...1L per 100 gals

Check out www.aquacrilycs.com for a cheap drop-in-sump wet/dry. I was thinking about getting one of those but in the end I found a used Pro Clear for even cheaper.

You should have looked at this model, the one you are looking at is a semi-berlin Salt system. Click the link that says Filters for the type you want, it even gives the bio capacity.
