eshopps drain flowrate questions

Thx for your input fish tank travis. Last sump i built (only recently) i kind of did what your stating and though it works fine if i could do it over i would have over sized the overflow (was actually suggested by another member) and dialed back the drain if need be with a gste valve, right now my pump is on the lowest setting and works perfectly with thst overflow but leaves me no wiggle room.

So i definitly want to oversize the overflow this time. I know both the pump and overflow will get me in the ball park of where i wanna be gph wise and can be adjusted with the valves and pump.

I was looking at the gph of the overflow wrong. Now just have to decide between the dct8000 or 12000

Guys what pump would better suit the 1600gph over flow box. I guess either or could work.

From what ive read the lowest setting on the dct 12000 is around 1000gph highest is 3100ish

The dct 8000 at the lowest setting is 660 gph highest being 2100ish.
Given head loss and plumbing i guess all would be lower. Dont wanna run the pump on the highest settings

DN328 DN328 dct8000 is 65w max setting and the dct12000 is 85w max setting.

Looks like the power for each setting % wise is the same for both.

I think the Jebao were based off of the waveline pumps from rlss (Although I've not seen this definitely stated anyway). I've not compared the specs on the two brands, but I do run the DC12000 and DC1000 II. So the 10000, may be somewhere in between. Just another option to complicate things...link below if you want to read. I think you can't go wrong with the Jebao if your set on using the brand and have a lot of head room left. In the long run not much of a price difference.

It's cheaper to dial back a bigger pump than to find out you need a bigger one. I wouldn't move up a bulkhead size though. I always suggest running 2 pumps, but I'm big on redundancy on these set ups.

Thx guys the deep aquatics looks nice but a lil more than i wanna spend right now. Maybe for the 300 gal.
The waveline looks like it draws more watts.

I tried googling but cant find anything on the gph for jebao on the different settings. Is it as easy as using the percentages for each setting x the max flow ?

Im gonna try and email them
