Ethical and moral question

Being a responsible fish keeper means being RESPONSIBLE for all aspects of your fishes well being. The amount you spent on the fish is not relavant you took a living creature into your tank. You bought it because you wanted the fish not because it was cheap. Otherwise you could keep feeders. Just my .02
 
I'll try to cure any fish I own if it's sick. It is not an easy thing to put a fish down. But if I've thrown everything I've got at it and it's not getting better then I feel it's humane to end the suffering.

I've medicated little fish like tetras and barbs, but it just seems like they are harder to cure than the bigger fish. I had a botia loach a while ago (like two years ago) that developed pop-eye. I must have spent $50 on meds for it and it only got worse. I've also never been able to cure dropsy, but thankfully I haven't seen that in my tanks for about 5 or 6 years now.
