Ethical Question....

at a quick glance, it can be pretty difficult to tell whether or not fish have parasites, especially internal parasites, that's why i don't take the risk of feeding live foods. not every fish in the wild has parasites, and not every parasite kills it's host, so they don't usually wipe out entire populations of fish.

thanks guys. :) its nice to get perspectives.

your welcome... it is also the same with feeding different insects from the wild..you have to worry about pestisides etc... best thing if you want to feed live is raise your own, best thing for fish health is feed pellets... has everything in it including vitamins etc...

thats what ive been meaning to ask. what pellets are people exactly talking about. i actually got my piranhas to attack hikari algae wafers lol. but they only nibble for one second. i also got them eating flake food. but what pelletes exactly so i can pick some up

i feed hikari bio gold and i know alot of others do as well. i have had great results so that is what i'll be sticking with

thats what i feed too... you just have to get whats best for you...hikari sinking..floating... small, medium or large pellet ....

Too risky.
A temperate water parasite/disease/stowaway introduced to a tropical tank would mean certain disaster.

I know it looks cool, and is fun to watch them kill and eat, but try and get them on prepared food. They will look 100X better.
