Lets look at dogs because they are fairly well understood when it comes to breeding. A purebred yellow lab mixed with a purebred chocolate lab make purebred lab puppies (of all colors sometimes). If two fish are of the same species, regardless of regional variance, and they are bred, they create offspring of their species. They cannot be advertised as having the traits of any specific variation of the species, but they are not hybrids.

Exactly...he can't say that they are F1 HRP from Rio Deppi, but they are still HRPs.

Somebody please get out their old high school biology text book and check the definition of hybrid. You will find that two separate and distinct species must be bred to create a hybrid. It will say nothing of where they are from. If I had a kid with a Japanese girl, would say my kid was a hybrid? I hope not.

"Father is a HRP Rio Deppi, and mom is a HRP of unknown origin. " He's not for sure what the mother really is if even the same breed there for it is a hybrid if it is not the same breed.point blank and simple

You just quoted him saying they are both HRPs...

really?

The op is just trying to make sure what he's selling is considered pure HRPs which they are weather or not they are collected from the same place. A LMB from Texas breed to a LMB from California is still a LMB, not a hybrid.

ye sI understand they are HRP that was not the point he has no clue of the origin of the mother therefore it is not a purebreed and as far as your dogs go as soon as you crossbredd the 2 they are not considered purebreed sorry but my dad used to work for the akc sorry to disappoint you on that one sir.

Why is it that you would need to know the origin in order to identify species? He is selling to a LFS, this is what you buy at a LFS.
If you origin or linage matter then buying from a LFS not a good idea.

Male Rio Deppi

Female from LFS

She is longer and skinnier than pic shows. Also smaller and no orange on her belly like my female Rapps HRP Leucistic.

More recent vid of her with the fry.
