Ethics in fishkeeping

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have seen the died fish and tatted fish but never ones with the tails cut of purposely! Thats extreamly retarded! I cant even think why someone would want to perchus a parrot with no tail not like that would make them look better? I would kindly tell them that whiel they have a nice shop and you enjoy shoping there. You and many of your friends do not suport such atrocities! Not much eles you can do.

although i have heard of ive never really seen a "tailless" BP. anyone have a picture? all you can do is not buy them and encourage others to do the same. while the store owner may or may not agree with the ethics of it, at the end of the day he still has a store to keep open. if he dosn't sell them the people who want them will go somewhere else to buy them. its just more money out of his pocket to stores that really could care less about fish and are only open to make money. so the most i hope for is to find stores that actully are in the know and take fish as a hobby as well. i dont hold anything agenst them for selling anything, i just dont buy it.

thats so gross and it just doesnt look good..and its a waste of money..

Ewwwww.....

My personal opinion is that any cross breeding and breeding to get what you want is the same as what is being stated... I mean look at carp.. Oh I mean Colored carp... "KOI" not a problem we say... WHy? Because to the supposed true fish keeper they only change the color not the structure of the fish..

Next we went to angels.... Now what you think your buying is an angle fish hhhmmm think again.. It all led up to this and guess what... We helped it here.. Now we want to have judgement over what we caused and allowed to happen.. You think the Japanese let any kind of deformed fin or veil tailed carp live.. NO. They don't they bred the color in and killed the deformed fish...hhhmm now we have Butterfly Koi.

Bubble eyed gold fish any one owned one of these? Is that not the same as cutting off the tail... IS the fish capable of living in the wild? How bout the guppy!!? Half of them can't even swim!!! Bred this way! What is the Difference in sellin a fish that can't even swim cause it's tail is too long compared to a fish that can at least swim..

And how bout the guy with the thread that just got shut down? He wasn't doing anything unsafe per say. Cutting off a dogs tail is much worse than what he was suggesting..

I don't mean to make anyone mad, but the facts are the facts.. We started it when we made the rest of these fish that are deformed mutilations of the originals.. The pet business is in need of new things too.. It is not a surprise that this is happening.

Before we go looking else where. this sounds like a personal question... Are you being hipocritical or not? That is not up to us to decide, cause I think you already have your answer. . So let's look in the mirror and ask ourselves.

I'm no authority, and if i had the space i'd probably own a Flowerhorn. Infact I thought i bought one. ended up being a MAyan.. And I am not into Wanna be Parrot fish of any kind. I like the original Parrots..

Me I'll stick to my SA's and Ca's and some africans... You buy what you will...

Personally I do not like the fish you talk about but have allot to say about this recurring subject that is quite bland now...

If i offended anyone Oh well. You'll get over it.
