Euthanize?

I had a lemon fin barb jump out of it's tank this morning...Heard the commotion
from the basement,ran downstairs grabbed the fish and placed it back in the tank.
The fish is alive,but there is definitely a swim bladder issue... spiral/upside down swimming...can't stay upright at all.I'm not aware of anything that can be done
to correct this?....So,I'm thinking time to euthanize?.....It's bad deal,I really
thought that top was secure.....but,it happens....I appreciate any advice
or suggestions.

wait for a day or two maybe it's just stressful or injured, if it's getting better leave it, if not euthanize

Try using stress coat and see if he gets any better within the next couple of days, if not, burry him in your backyard

Well,just had a look at the fish...And I'm pleased to say that it is in fact
doing better than it was a couple of hours ago.....but he's still not 'right'
it's swimming upright but sort of hopping about the bottom and kind of
using it's fins as outriggers....we'll see what happens....Thanks for
your advice!

In my early days I had three jumpers and I didn't lose any of them I did have to treat two of the fish for infections from wounds. I had no idea at what time any of them left the tank either I found a large firemouth behind a dresser after being gone all day and woke up to my fist Oscar that I had raised to 9 inches on the living room floor and a 8 inch Tinfoil Barb that followed him I had to do fish CPR for awhile but they all survived the ordeal.

The fish is doing much better today!Swimming seems to be fairly normal
now,maybe a bit sluggish.He doesn't seem to have any problems regulating
his depth but is having some trouble suspending for any length of time...
doing that slow sink.Other than that,he's a little banged up,missing a few
scales,tattered fins and both eyes are 'popped' (swollen out) and glazed
over.Hope that doesn't present more problems....

To my complete amazement,this fish seems to have made a complete recovery!
All systems restored!If it wasn't for the minor 'cosmetic' damage he suffered to the
tip of his dorsal spine and the slight case of fin rot in his tail that sprung up earlier
in the week (which seems to be healing rapidly) there would be no evidence that
the fish ever went through the whole ordeal!...He's back to eating like a champ so
I always take that as a great sign!
