I'm going to post something i hate to post...my friend tried to donate a HUGE Dempsey (at least 8 inches) at a petsmart and they took it saying "they'll find a big tank for him from another customer" well my friend worked there and found out the stabbed it in the head with a knife and threw it in the garbage...............I had no response
Did he report them?
I would if I worked there, especially if he saw them do it and there was evidence in the trash.
That is just horrible.

since this thread isn't very on-topic, I'll clarify:

Excel is a carbon supplement used in aquariums and comes in the form of an aldehyde (gluteraldehyde maybe?), it excess amounts in can keep fish from respirating properly and cause them to suffocate. (You aren't using this)

I have seen potassium dosed to 80ppm in tanks, and fish will not absorb much of this (you won't be dosing this much) so it won't hurt them. (You are using this)

Excess DIETARY Iron (not chelated or ferric forms) can cause stunted growth and liver toxicity. You are dosing the water column, again not a threat (you are using this).

Even if you dose double or triple amounts, it's not enough to adversely effect fish.

I had no issues with Sera ferts although I don't dose ferts anymore since I no longer dedicate any tanks to heavy planting.

They weren't reported sadly.....but even if they had i dont think they'd have lost their jobs. Just a slap on the wrist i bet. One of my HUGE pet peeves! Fish aren't put on the same level as other pets, their deaths are shrugged off, which is BS!

If its in the local newspaper and news people can be hurt by their business and the franchise yanked as petsmart cannot afford any bad publicity right now

public embarrassment is the best dose of medicine as it brings down stores to their knees as there are business ethics that people are bound to follow

I've forgotten to close the lid and had a fish jump out, does that count?
