Ever time out a fish?

My Midas/RD is in time out as we speak.

works better for some fish then others... works well with Cichlids, and Fire eels. Pavlov at work.

I gave my demasoni a 5 day time out. Once I added him back to the main tank it took him 10 minutes to beat everyone back into submission. I eventually had to give him away since he was constantly bullying the other fish.

I have.Not to try and teach the fish but to give the less dominant fish in the tank a chance to recover and establish thier dominance.When the bully goes back in now someone else is boss.

and the lesson therein is learned

What is even funnier is he came back in the tank, tried to get tough for an instant and the dominant zebra tilapia actually bit him right between the eyes and then swam off casually.

I watched the tank for a good 2-3 hours before I figured it was safe to go home, and this morning all is calm.

Glad to see that I am not the only one who plays doctor doolittle with the fish/

Right now my footlong RD and Rosequeen are in my 150G for 3wks now. They punked everyone in my big tank. What should i do now? move them back and hope they learned their timeout? which i highly doubt that.

me, i only give my smart fish time outs, the stupid ones just dont learn lol. My largest mollies, the sailfins, are on time out for bulling my poor little male Dalmatian molly, poor fella.

believe it or not this works sometimes. ive done this with aggressive cichlids with success. even holding them out of the water for a bit seems to calm them down

I have a converted tupperware with holes in it that problem fish go in for a day. It always works.

I've actually netted a oscar before for about 5 mins in a corner to teach him a lesson when he started to bully my other two. He remained neutral for about a week or so.........

You have to talk to them like they understand for maximum effect or so I have found.

It really works well when I tell them I COULD COOK YOU !!!!!!!!
