You might not believe this, but it's the truth.

I got fired for asking if I could get half of my shift off, next Saturday.
Not "no", or "I'll think about it" or anything.
This is what I heard come out of my bosses mouth, "Don't even bother clocking in if it's going to be like this, just beat it."

Freaking FIRED, just for asking to get 4 hours off on a Saturday.

Be careful what you ask for at work.:nilly:

Oh yeah, Don't shop at Batteries Plus in Fort Worth, Texas.:irked:

:WTF: :swear: :swear: :swear:

he prolly didnt like you and that was his opportunity to take action.
did you do anthing wrong in the past few days weeks

I aggree that he probably was looking for a reason to get rid of you.
Not that it was your fault. He's probably a jerk all the time.

But a lot of things can influence that kind of thing.
He might have had previous employees that always were asking for time off and he was continuously trying to fill their spots.
He might have been having a really crappy day and you were the straw that broke the camel's back.
and of course

He might be a total idiot.

Had you been working there long?
Does his company have a large turn over rate?
(employees quiting or being fired all the time)

Either way. The guys sounds like a prick.

The manager that fired me is 26 years old and has been there for 10 years.

There was only me, an assistant mgr., and him.

Those two have been in the same band for about 5 years, and nobody else has worked with them for more than a few months.

Now I know why.

Why would you fire someone for asking for time off, and then have to cover all of their shifts?

What a dumb-@$$ !!

Oh well, anybody want to go fishing?

DAmm.if i were in ure place i would have cussed him out mean afther i were fired over somthing so stupid,

That sucks, sorry to hear about your crummy boss.

I had food service bosses like that, they think they are some sort of unquestionable "God of the Schedule".

IMO, anything minimum wage you are going to work for people like that. There's always that next college kid, high school student, retiree, etc. waiting to replace you.

You'll find a better job elsewhere, don't sweat it.
