You cant just fire people or you get sued, must first give verbal warning, then written, then you can fire, even then you better have a good reason and documentation and witnesses to back it up, i used to be in mgmnt.

How long have you worked there I've fired people for being 3 minutes late their first day And i usually let people go for being absent while still in the 90 day trial period.. 2 times your gone have a nice day

In most states even employment at will states companies have a 90 day trial period hence the insurance becomes available usually after this period

But employment at will states are even better at this cause aside from Discrimination your screwed

Indiana is the same way. I got fired while on Worker's Compensation for a work related illness and the Worker's Compensation Company didn't have to finish with the medical treatment because I no longer worked for the company. I took the company I worked for to court and the Judge through it out because the worker has no rights in Indiana. I spent about $8,000 to find that out, what a loss. I filed against the Worker's Comp. Company and I have reached a settlement after 6 years. Although I was allowed to collect Unemployment. If I would have worked in Illinois I would have been able to sue the piss out of the company and their work comp. carrier and would have won.

I had a smart mouth boss once at the shipyard and he gave me hell after 4 months i had enough and retalyated. I pushed him down and sat on his back till he blacked out i walked off the job.3 days later i was given a court summons i ended up doing 17 days in city jail and a 250$ fine it sucked but to watch the boss man cry and beg after months of tormenting me it was pretty sweet and i was 19 still living at moms house so i had no resposablitys so the jail time was not that big a deal so it was worth it but i cant do none of that these days but i know that boss wont ever forget about the 300 lbs fatboy on his back hahaha i win.
