From your maintenance routine and obviouse knowledge of tanks, i cant believe it was anything you did or didnt do with your tank.
I had our windows and glass doors replaced in our house and covered my tanks with painting clothes. Even though the windows werent near my tanks, that crap can blow through the air and land in the water.
