Yes, there is no lack of any colour in a synspilum.
I like their shape too.
I got a 100 and a 80 gallon at the moment.
But 100 plus 80 does not equal 180, what would be a minimum tank size for a pair, wouldn't it?

Yeah, I'd say a 180+ for the larger Vieja. Males will hit 14", and to me that's too big for a 48" long aquarium or 18" wide aquarium.

My dream freshwater fish would be umbee or dovii. Very big cichlids with attitude to match.

If Asian arowana were legal here, I'd probably covet one of those, too.
