EVERYONE'S FIRST TANK!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My first tank was a lake! Haha! :)
When I was little I used to feed the fishies (mainly minnows :tropicalf) in there everyday with bread, earthworms and clams! :D
With all the minnows there would be pikes approaching once in a while! But never got to feed these guys unfortunately, they kept their distances! ;)

I even tamed a large catfish that got used to getting fed and would come see me every single day at exactly around 4pm, I'd be swimming and I knew when it had arrived cause I would feel its whiskers on my body as it was searching for food! ;) I always had earthworms for him and he gobbled up anything I gave him lol!
Haha! I thought it was just being affectionate with me, and that it came to me to be pet and play as well (not just for food), being to young to know better :tropicalf. I would always pet and play with it as it did not really seem to care that I did! :) I love the little guys now! :D

Sweet memories! :);)

i dont have any pics any more. but it was a 10g with gold fish.

My first tank was a 20 gallon then the hobby took over...55 gallon...240 gallon...1100 gallon pond...480 gallon pond...you get the idea :)

I started out with a single lima shovelnose and then when I got the 55 gallon a few months later I changed the 20 to plants and random fish, ID shark, chinese high fin shark, clown loach, wild congo tetras, and green neon tetras all started about 4 years ago. My 20 is still running to this day but has seen it's share of different fish. I've grown out my piraiba, hybrid rtcxtsn, tigrinus, juruense, pac man catfish, SAL, rotkeil severums, and lots of random fish in between in there. It currently has the pac mans and a long ear sunfish as its residents.
