they grow VERY fast and are VERY active in warm water. They're peaceful but can eat anything that will fit in their mouth and try to eat everything else.
also, they'll get big and start banging themselves up if the tank isnt big enough.

They are a temperate NA species that has adapted to northern waters like yours and southern, warmer waters. Just make sure they can't eat what you want to keep with them. Do you know what species of channel they are? Some get bigger than others. They are cool fish and grow fast. Good luck with them!

4 feet deep is good for them.

since when are there different species of channel catfish? i only ever knewn there was the one unless you start talking about hybrids with blue catfish. i think thats the only species known to have hybrids with channels. now there are a bunch of other native catfish species like madtoms, bullheads, flatheads, white catfish, and blue catfish that all have various sizes.

please help me out if im wrong

i just thought the size differences has more to do with the conditions they live in such as temp, size of river or lake/pond, and food sources. help me out please

hmmmn, now if i could only get the full dimensions of the pool....and i could probly just use the old pool filter once all the chlorine is gone?

anyone got some pics of this type of setup and/or the fihs?

Yeah, I can't wait till mine hits the 17" mark. I'm going to eat him so good.

My albino channel cat wont grow barely at all. I've had him for about 7 monthes, and he's only 7-8 inches?? Why wont he grow?!
