Kevin did you get your gulpers?

Yes, I got them. 5 Total. Have them for around 9 months now in an old 125 with 4 sponge filters as filtration. I feed them once a week, frozen/thawed Tilapia Fillet. Unbelievable how much they can eat. A large fillet will be pushed into the glass or a rock to help swallow it LOL I swear they unhinge their jaw just to get more food inside!

Got them at about 4" and now they are around 6"

I'm very happy with these fish.

I would have no desire to own one of these serial fish killers and give it a big F. Funny how some view this fish's gulping talent as cool, I find it down right disrespectful ha ha ha. The people who own these kinds of fish, you got to wonder about them.

I'd just like to add, Any Canadians looking for Gulpers... Let me know ;) I'll hook you up! Be warned though they aren't as cheap as in the States!... but I'm working on it

Made a HUGE mistake last night, a pair of rare cichlids I have unexpectedly spawned in one of my grow out tanks and when I got home last nigh the eggs had hatched, so I took out my 7 in Cichla kelberi so it wouldnt eat their fry. I threw it into the tank w/ my gulper catfish that has been living w/ a big pair of Geopahgus brokopondo and a giant silver dollar for months now. The peacock bass WAS 2 inches bigger than my GULPER and is now residing in the catfish's belly.

I've been feeding him chucks of tilapia at night, but today he is a blimp and there was a 2 inch baby blue crab eating the strip of tilapia. It must have been in there living under some driftwood for months when i had some pikes in that tanks last year. This was totally my fault, but luckily my lfs has kelberi ridiculously cheap on their list right now. I used to keep gulper in its own tank, but i had so many different fish spawn I needed his tank for fry.
