  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
whats the background you have in there? i love it

very nice!

did you use co2?

Wow...

That is beautiful.

I want to get into a planted tank so bad, just have no idea where to start, if anyojne wants to help me please PM me thanks.

Amazing.

I like how towards the end their you changed up your plant choices to have less broad-leafed plants such as swords and replaced them with a fine-leafed plant like rotala. It probably made better use of the Co2 system, and made it easier to balance nutrient levels?

What was the second electrical device you added in the background on the Feb07 picture. More Co2 or something?

Lets get some specs! I am guessing those are 2 HOT Magnums, with a nice digital Co2 system running. Maybe a canister or two underneath. The lighting is probably like 2x 250w halides or something crazy with 6500k pc's as supplemental.. edit: Theres actually TWO FIXTURES on that tank, no wonder. Like 8x96w pc 6500k's..?

Goody-You can go wrong with I'm running on this tank. I'm not sure what size you are thinking about. The bigger the tank, the more difficult and pricey it is.

Miles, I did change the look on purpose-I thought I'd like broad leafed plants, but I really like the fine leaf better-they do grow better and its much easier to shape them. The second electrical device on the wall was the separate timer for the UV sterilizer and CO2. I was using the timer on the left for the CO2 but found that the plants were closing up an hour or so before the lights turned off. As for filtration-only 2 HOTs....the plants take care of everything else. The lights are 706W of PC lights (5500K and one 10000K/460nM for a little blue look)-2 x 192W and 1 x 322W fixtures. I put the overall specs above.
