Evolution Question???

Hmmm.. I think, Saltwater to fresh, but thats just me, ... well me and Walking with Monsters - Life Before Dinosaurs from the discovery channel..lol
 
But then why do we not see any evolution happening now today? where are the "new" creatures that have never ever been around before? And why is it that there is NO proof in the fossil record?
 
I read somewhere that some cichlids are closely related to damsels. They said that the damsels slowly moved into the rivers and lakes, but I really don't remember what all it said.
 
Sorry to burst ur bubble, sudz, lol, but there are plenty of examples, including the diversification of species, vast presence of very similar yet different characteristics in living animals, aswell as the fossil record.. for example.. I know this is a very used one, but Darwin's study of the Golapagos finches.. I think thats some pretty solid evidence.. as well as the terrestrial and aquatic species of iguanas on the islands, differing slightly by island. It could be just me, but there seems to be evidence all over the place...
 
I can't understand why there can't be evolution with God? I mean, evolution just describes the trend of changes that life undergoes. I still believe there is a God who set everything in motion.
 
This was about saltwater and fresh, not evolution and religion. Please keep it civil, so my thread doesn't get closed.
