Quick update. They're still pretty shy and hide when I come into the room, except when it's feeding time. As Mel had said, they're slow growers but have put on a little bulk since I got them. I feed twice a day and do weekly 70-75% water changes. I wonder when they start to get their yellowish coloring?

It was quite challenging to get these shots.

Nice looking fish there! I had got a 6 pack of the 1.5" ones from Jeff and lost 5 to bloat in a heartbeat! I started with just flake and they were fine...I added the 1mm NLS in the mix and they bloated. I have my fish at work so I didnt see them over the weekend...came in monday and it was too late. I treated with metro and nada...one is ok and the last bloated one is still handing on but still swollen so bad the eyes are puffed out.

Nice little ornatus! i like these guys, weve got one from rapps at the LFS i work at and hes pretty personable, although he is shy as well.

How big is the one you got in? Are you keeping it in it's own tank or with other fish?

I'm sorry to hear about yours, that sucks. Mine eat like pigs, I hope they don't bloat. I feed various NLS pellets as their main diet but they get shrimp, krill and bloodworms too.

Sorry guys, they're not much to look at now but hopefully they grow out to be big and beautiful.

Btw, how do ya'll like the little Grammodes in the second pic? He's an offspring of my former 9" male and 6" female from their last batch before I sold them. I found him with a few others in my filter a while back. Thought he was stunted but he's finally starting to grow some.

Wow, that's a nice fish in a clean tank!

Thanks Art, I work hard to thouroughly vacuum every week. I hope the fish appreciate it lol. One question though, only "A" nice fish? Which one? :D

The GT is the nicest looking fish in there atm imho. And he's soooo interactive too.

Yeah, they have definitely put on weight. Has their interaction with tankmates changed over time? I mean do you notice them becoming more aggressive with size and age? They are very beautiful.

TY Gruff. They're still aggressive only towards each other and totally ignore the other fish. Not aggressive as in liplocking and stuff, but more or less it's the lighter colored one chasing around the darker colored one.
