Hi all i picked up a ranchu today, wanted one since reading about them last week and today in the lfs low and behold a tank of 1 inch black rachu!-) the owner picked me a 'good quality one' one out only to get home and he had a small anal fin on one side, uuurgh. Feel a bit guilty about doing a 30min round trip just to swap him for another, although im sure someone will buy 'gimpy fin' (his name for the short while he was here) purely for that reason, im shallow i know!

I feel a little silly getting so excited about the new little goldfish when i have my 300g community lol...

no love for rancho? im loving this little guy lol.... maybe ive got old (31) and gone mad ha...
 
Lol. I feel you justern. When I chose my ranchu a few years ago it took me quite a while to pick a few. They live for some time so being picky isn't a issue. Good luck with the lil guy. My black ranchu was the slowest grower I owned. He was moved into my uncles pond and is still small after 2 years with him. Good luck. You'll be driving all around looking for more I bet.

haha cheers calichai, that was what i said the the guy at the lfs... maybe fancy goldfish is my next phase, cichlids then catfish... now goldfish? huh?!-) here you go, couple more pics, last ones were on the phone, these are dslr... he is flat out everywhere, got a few though lol...

i know his back isnt perfectly round but im not after the perfect show ranchu if he is x with lionhead hey ho!-)
 
i was sad and whats app'ed a pic to ma mate, he replyed 'look at evil ol black eyes' lol... goldfish fever here i come... ship out the wyckii and midas for a 300g full off ranchu!-) ... maybe not but still awesome lol!
