I am going to meet a guy tomorrow about buying a 180 gallon from him! I am so excited because my biggest tank right now is a 75 gallon. It was two holes drilled into it already for a drain so I can use a wet/dry. All I need to do is build a stand and a canopy! I can't wait.:nilly:

I will be sure to keep all of you updated!

Really looking forwards to some pictures

Got it today! I am excited! Only downfall will be the setting up, its going to take sometime to build everything and since I will only be using my tip money since I don't depend on it it may take a couple of months.

I put my cat (Blue, after Blue from Old School) in the tank and he was utterly confused.

It has five 3/4" holes drilled in the bottom of the tank, and I need to redo some of the sealing in the tank, but I am looking forward to cleaning it up! Shes going to be my project for quite a while.

I'm jealous, wish I had a project like that !!!

Please post some pics as you go.

Will do!

Ok so my question to all my fellow MFKers. How should I go about filtering my tank? First I shall start with my idea.

There are five 3/4" staggered holes drilled into the bottom of the tank. I was planning on sticking some CPVC pipe into it (since it would fit snugly and actually be 3/4") and make it go to almost the top of the tank to act as a drain into a DIY sump. (About 1-2 inches from the top) I would probably use three as drains and plug the other two. As far as return goes I need suggestions on a pump. Anything quiet and of quality will do. The cheaper the price the better! I would just throw some piping together for a return similar to how a normal canister filter would work. This is my first time building all my own things of this nature so I am looking for any and all advice!

Now my other question is about resealing. I see some portions of the inner edges that need to be resealed. (Picture below) Can I just do sections? Or will I need to do the entire inside of the tank. Also, in your experience what is your favorite sealant to use? I am in the process of just cleaning the tank right now, which will probably take a day or two as long as nothing comes up. Thanks in advance for any help guys!
