Well what arent you sure about?

Best advice is dont get too excited with buying fish. And QUARANTINE! If you thought ich in a freshwater set up was hard to deal with wait till you have to be a chemist and marine biologist to cure an entire show tank with ich.

can't even stress this enough, quarantines are very important along with keeping your tank clean cause once you get ich in a marine tank, it takes a lot to get it out. I got ich once, and then I lost all my fish, thought it was gone and went to buy another fish then it got infected and died so eventually I finally got things healthy but it didn't go down without a fight that cost me a lot of money.

I have to agree on the issue with quarantine...only fish I never quarantined were morays. I've seen nice looking healthy tanks go to crap over a fish not being quarantined because it "came from a reputable place" or "looks fine". Since i like eels there are a few species that can live in a tank that size for either life or at least quite some time. Such as golden dwarf morays, gymnothorax richardsoni, g. tile, chestnut moray...and many of the echidna species for a while due to relatively slow growth.

Have to disagree. They get pretty big and thick. And the rest of his stock will probably all be 3" or less fish which the eel will grow to a size of eating pretty fast.

Depends on which direction he decides to go. He may decide to have 3 fish in the tank, or 5-6 small ones, etc.

I've kept snowflakes in a 55 with fish as small as 3-4" long. Depends on how well the eel is fed, individual temperament, etc. Also, if you're putting any moray in a tank you should consider the fellow stock very carefully and the fact they may end up as lunch.
