Exodon safe scavenger?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I kept Modestas with African Cichlids as well as with numerous varieties of Cichlids. Give them a few good sized rocks or driftwood & they are good to go.
The Tiger Loaches are vicious. They borrow into the substrate, or hide under the hardscape during the day.
They will attack slow inactive fish & strip them of their fins. I learned that the hard way.

Forgot to mention this tank is only a 20H. I know it’s too small for exos, they were kind of a rescue from a 10 and were about to be flushed. I think it’s too small for the loaches mentioned as well, any other small loaches you’d recommend?

Most Loaches hug the substrate & hang out near structure. Just out of the reach of Exodons.
Zebra Loaches stay small & are good scavengers. Probably would be ignored by the Exodons.

I think the Skunks will do fine as well. They are a bit tougher and more active than Zebras.

I thought about Cory’s but they’re the one fish I never have any luck with lol
Just try a handful of Green Cory's. Worst comes to worst your only out by bout $20. Ime they tend to be pretty hardy catfish and are great for cleaning up spare food.

I actually like the greens, you don’t think the exos would pick on them?

Lol they would probably try untill they get a good spine in their mouth. They are also scaled catfish so they can take a bit of punishment. They are also bottom dwelling, schooling fish which should help reduce any bullying from the exo's.
