Exodon + Scaleless Fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh, well I definitely will keep them well fed. but I was saying I wouldn't mind too much if the jag picked a few of the exodons off here and there...

Oh, yeah of course I plan on keeping them well fed, but I was saying I wouldn't mind too bad if my 10 inch jag picked them off here and there as long as they don't mess with him... They're fast enough that I feel that they won't get eaten too quickly...

Piscovorous cichlids can catch exos quite easily, trust me. Tried them as dithers for Salvinis figuring they would last a bit longer than some of the barbs/danios I've tried before, no difference at all. A 10 inch jag will just eat them no questions asked. Jags are efficient predators and would have no problem catching exodons in the confines of an aquarium.

There is a LFS near me that had exos in a tank w/ a large JD male, and I watched the JD eat nearly all of them. The LFS owner said exos should be fine w/ large cichlds lol.
I personally would keep exos by themselves.

I also had a 2 inch jaguar and while I was waiting to put him in another tank, I decided to try putting him in the tank with the 2-3 inch exodons.... mistake, only 1 left out of 15 (this one's like 4 inch, the beast of the group :) ) Well, I can't say you guys didn't warn me, but damn, I didn't think he'd make such short work out of 14 of them when they're about his size... I came home from work (I work 3-4 days at a time) and just saw an empty tank with him sitting at the bottom with a HUGE stomach. It kinda looked like he was smiling at me too :-D :-D it was crazy
