can anyone give me some background on these?what type of fish can I keep in the tank with them?I see they have big teeth for lil fish and I know they aren't a comm.fish.

Ive never kept em but in a large tank say 120gal+ you can get away with keeping them with large cichlids 8"+ to be safe. They are a characin that gets to 3.5" max. They are like little piranha and need to be in a group of 12 minum really any less and you get losses.

Im sure that channarox or west can give better info.

I've had about a dozen of them for about 9 months, my largest was at 3", anyways you hear about them killing each other and missing eyes and stuff, but none of that ever happened to me in the whole nine months of keeping them. And like Bogwoodbruce said I have learned you can really keep anything with them unless the fish is aggressive enough to defend itself. In conclusion they are a fun species of fish to have, very active.

Beautiful tank dude, were getting 40 in the shop.

thanks. sadly I do miss them. 40 Exodons huh?...you know they look gray and green for the longest time, but after a few months all the exodons had blood red fins.

get up to 6 inches in the wild.
maximum in aquariums i have seen or owned is about 3 inches.
slightly more if youre lucky.
basically like mini dorado.
dont stop swimming and an be aggressive.
anything that isnt shiny and sliver should be fine.
but should be able to hold its own when needed.
feed anything.
very fun fish.
keep in groups of 6 or more because many times the smallest and weakest will be killed and eaten.
a group of 50 in a 55g is awesome.
could probably fit more.
