Hey everyone, i just received a free 55 gallon tank from one of my buddies, and I was wondering how many Exodons can I keep in there for life.

They will be the only fish living in there.

I know they are very crazy and will pick each other off so there's no gaurentees with them, but what is the safest number for a 55 gallon?

It depnds on your filtration. they like being cramped. If you get an AC110 you might be able to do at least 60. I have 16 in a 10 gallon and they are doing great. more exos will make them more aggresive to prey and less to there own kind.

I have 2 AC110's that have been cycling the tank for about 4 days now so I think im good on the filtration. Does anyone know where i can find them? How much do they cost?

They are cheap where I live, about 8 dollars a piece, BUT 8 x 70 is another story. Exodons, bucktooth tetras, they are not in you LFS?

I would not want to order a lot from an online dealer and recieve them all in the same bag, between the poop and them scared possible eating each other, just my thought though!!!

you might want to try tfdfish.com since you're already in ohio. He might sell them to you if you're buying so many of them.

I would say somewhere around 50 of them. Are you going to have plants and whatnot too?

I saw N-E Cichlid got some now for $3.50 each, but I'm not sure how much shipping will coset.

Only plastic plants and a couple pieces of driftwood if i can find the crazies. There is a lfs that will be getting some exos in about 2 weeks so hopefully they will be cheap. 50-75 of them is going to get kiiiinda pricey lol. Idk what I am going to do yet, the tanks been cycling for a while now.
